I know nothing about this helmet other then i purchased it at a estate sale of a deceased wwii vet who had a lrage collection of german combat items. It resembles the m17 helmets i ma seeing on internet auction sites. There appears to be the remnants of a painted maker's mark on the rear area inside rim, but it is too faded to make ti out.
Nothing that was stapmed as i can find. The outer shell has one dent on top as shwon in the photos. It looks like the helmet was painted in a blcak and dark tan camouflage pattern. There si no perforation or serious rust. The shell is in solid original unaltered condition and would restore nicely if one wanted to do so.
