Here is a fantastic rare & genuine highly collectable but also tottaly usable, british army gurkha regimental issued still carrying the soldiers number number 1332 marked on the spine with clearly indian or nepali made stamps. This kukri was brought from ireland by a family member several years ago from the great grandson of the soldier who brought it back after the great war. Research to date shows that the number 1332 was most likley issued to the the following recorded gurkha who was killed in iraq in 1917. Namelalpati gurung. Nationalityindian. Rankrifleman. Regiment/service8th gurkha rifles. Unit text2nd bn. Attached. 1st bn. Date of death21/04/1917. Service no1332. Additional informationson of bandasing gurung, of sing, gulmi, palpa, nepal. Casualty typedead. Memorialbasra. The 2/8 th gurkha rifles seem to often have sued small purchase orders & even hade some made on thier on bases to the designs they deemed appropriate. It has a well tempered & weighted gracefully curved, hollow forged steel blade, 12 inch blade length. Weights 20 oz. So a surprisigly fast but still serious hitting traditionaly forward balanced piece. Overall length 16 inches, sound original regimental issue scabbard, no rear pockets, unusualy the stich line is on the edge of the scabbard ont the rear.

No damage to handle or blade, on rust or pitting. Unusual steel buttplate & raised pillar keeper. A realy well made high quality piece. One of the kukris that made the gurkhas famous in the world war 1 with thier feats of ruthless toughness & bravery. Thankyuo & good luck!

Ps. Sorry, but it appears ebay are asking all bidders, old and new, ot register their credit card number with ebay, before bidding, to prove they are over 18 to comply with knife laws! Annoying. But sadley required by ebay!
