Rare American Volunteers With The French Army MedalThis extremely rare medal measures about 4 1/4 tall overall. It is made of rbonze and is hinged between the figures at the top of the star. I have been told that it was presented by the frenhc to american volunteers that served with the french prior to the us involvement. I believe the initials l.
E. Stand for thelafayette escadrille, a.
A. American ambulance and a. F. S.
American field service. I'm not sure about hte others. The top of the medal shows french and american soldiers shaking hands. Overseas bidders must contact me before bidding as i will not ship to all countries.
