Original Wwi German Army M1916 Stahlhelm Helmet Ww1Up for bid is a nice solid wwi german model 1916 stahlhelm helmet shell. The shell is in nice condition with no dnets or cracks. The shell retains the liner band, original pins, and both brass chinstrap loops. Unfortunately, the helmet is missing hte original leather liner and pads. The helmet retaisn approximately 75% of the original pea green finish, with a darker od green paint over it that has practically all rubbed or chipped off. There is some very light surface rust in a few areas, but this shell should clean up very nicely and would make an excellent candidate for a restoration. Helmet shell is stamped with what appears to be bf66, with the last 6 hard to make out. A lot number of r1290 is also stamped ni the top of the dome.
