Ww1 canadian 5 button tunic. Excellent condition with minor mothing to the bottom edge of the front hme (see pic #5). Badged to the 102nd.

Battalion, canadian xepeditionary force north british columbians. Also known as warden's warriors. The tunci has correct 102nd. Bn. Collra badges made by vancouver jeweller ob allan. It also has correct canada shoulder badges, and correct canada gs buttons.

It has original sergeant stripes a brass wound badge and 3 blue service stripes. The sergeant stripes are mismatched, the l/h stripe has a pattern of small chevorns pointing out, and the r/h stripe has the chevron pattern pointing in. The l/h stripe is darker in colour. I am not 100% sure but i have seen pictures of ncso in france wearing only one stripe.

It could be that wilkinson added the second stripe after returning home, but of course i have no way of. Confirming that. I do not have a blacklight to chcek the threads and will leave that up to the purchaser if desired. It has a w/i\d stamp on the lining, the paper label is long gone. The best feature of this tunic is the naming.

It is hand named ni pen and ink as follows907090. Sergt. J. F. Wilkinson.
102nd battn. Sergeant jaems frederick wilkinson was born in durham county england in 1894. He enlisted in the cef in 1916 and was posted to the 102nd. Bn. In france.

After all the officers and ncos of his company had become casualties he assumed command, conoslidating and mopping up. The beggar trench. Has receievd no previous award. (auth-a. F. 3121 15.4.17. ). Sergeant wilkinson was wounded in june 1917 (gsw-thigh) and was invalided bcak to canada. I assume that this tunic is the one he was issued for the trip home. A copy of his complete personnel file (approx 50 pages) and medal citation is included. This tunic has been in my personal collection for 10 years and now ti is time for someone else to enjoy it. (no, i don't have his medals, and have no idea who does! ). Payment by paypal please. Item will be mailed upon receipt of payment. There is a relaistic reserve on this item. Please note that there are no returns on this item. The description is accurate and the hpotos give a very good idea of the condition. Of this tunic. Please ask questions before bidding.
